Grand Finale: From Glee With ♥

  Today, I'll be splashing to you guys all about GLEE! *double wink* So.... Let the Gleek journey begin!


  "Glee" is one of the most talked about series of this generation. The series was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan from the 20th Century Fox Production. It is a musical comedy-drama series which is aired in Astro's Star World,every Wednesday 8.00pm.

  The series tells the story of "New Directions", a glee club which is formed by McKinley High School's Spanish teacher, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). It focuses on the journey of the club competing in the show choir circuit, as well as the journey of the club members struggles in relationships, sexuality and other social problems. Each episode highlight's a social problem in which the club and/or the members are facing, i.e. teen pregnancy and sex, and how they overcame each of those problems.


  The members of "New Directions" consisted of:

1. Rachel Berry (Lea Michelle) - a strong and driven singer, who believes that she can be the next Barbra Streisand. She's always misunderstood by her peers, and often has an on-and-off relationship with Finn throughout the series. In the series, she has also briefly dated Noah as well as Jesse St. James from Vocal Adrenaline, the New Directions' ultimate rival.

2. Finn Hudson (Corey Montel) - is a star quarterback for the school's football team. He risks alienation from his friends to join the Glee club. In the beginning, he is dating Quinn. However, he develops feelings for Rachel, and he dumps Quinn for her.

3. Quinn Fabray (Dianna Argon) - is the school's head cheerleader and the president of the celibacy club. She is introduced as Finn's girlfriend in the beginning of the season 1. But then, she was dumped by Finn when she got pregnant with Noah's child. 

4. Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) - is a singer who is often bullied by the football team for being openly gay. In season 1, he develops feelings for Finn, and was broken-hearted when he finds that Finn is not gay and loves Rachel. In the course of the series, he and Finn eventually became brothers due to their parents' (Kurt's father and Finn's mother) marriage.

5. Artie Abrams (Kevin McHale) - is a guitarist and a paraplegic manual wheelchair user. He is like the "nerd" who loves the Glee club and uses it as a form of escapism. During the first season, he slowly accepts the fact that he will never achieve his dream of a dancer due to his spinal injury. He dated fellow Glee club member Tina in the first season. But in the second season, he's dumped by Tina, and he eventually starts dating Brittany. 

6. Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley) - is a "diva-in-training who refuses to sing backup" with a "flair of fashion". She is "frenemies" with Rachel, for both of them do not wish to "share the spotlight". In the beginning of the season, she develops a crush for Kurt, but is soon heartbroken when she finds out that he's gay. However, she becomes supportive and confides with Kurt's sexuality. 

7. Tina Cohen-Chang (Jenna Ushkowitz) - is the type of person who typically dresses up like the Japanese Gothic Lolita. In season 1, she dated Artie. But soon she develops feelings for Mike Chang between the change of season 1 to season 2, and dumps Artie for him. 

8. Noah Puckerman (Mark Salling) - is Finn's best friend and football mate. Initially, he disapproves Finn for joining the Glee club. However, he joins Will's  all mate a-capella group to impress the mothers at the school's PTA meeting. He's the bad boy who always gets himself into trouble, not to mention also the father of Quinn's baby.

 

9. Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) - is a cheerleader who initially joined the Glee club as a spy for the Cheerio's coach, Sue. However, after getting to know more about the club, she comes to enjoy her club participation. She has a brief romance with Puck and Sam, and she comes to realize that she's actually in love with her best friend, Brittany. She's a bit of an antagonist, for she's usually the one giving all the sarcasm about the club members. 

10. Brittany S. Pierce (Heather Morris) - is a cheerleader who joins the club along with Quinn and Santana. Her character is described as "literally insane". She has a brief relationship with Artie, before she confessed her true feelings for Santana in the final episode of season 2.

11. Mike Chang (Harry Shum, Jr.) - is a football player and dancer who joins the Glee club. In the beginning, he's portrayed as the "shy kid". After he joins the club, despite being a "social suicide", he feels more comfortable for he has "found a place where he can express himself and be accepted". He starts dating Tina in season 2.

12. Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) - is a gay student at Dalton Academy and a member of the Warblers, rival of the New Directions. When Kurt is transferred to Dalton, Blaine develops feelings for him, and the two started their romance in the middle of season 2.


  There are actually many other members of the New Directions, and I would love it if I can describe each and every one of them to you. However, I feel that I will kind of give out too much spoilers and ruin all the fun for this series. If you want to know more about the characters of Glee, just watch the series!


  Besides, I'm actually suppose to write a REVIEW of the series, not about the characters of the series. So.... Here's my review in brief: THE SERIES IS SO FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!! *laughs*


  OK OK... I'll explain my reasons to why I love this series very much:-


Reason number 1: The whole series reminds me of my high school years. Unlike High School Musical, Glee actually portrays real-life social problems that teenagers are facing nowadays. Plus, I have to admit, I was (and still am... I think) like Rachel. I can totally relate to most of the characters of Glee, for I have experienced them myself.


Reason number 2: The songs in every episode are jaw-dropping magnificent! From Broadway hits like Wicked's "Defying Gravity", to the latest songs like Lady Gaga's "Born This Way", Glee never fails to perform marvellous renditions of hit songs, as well as making evergreen songs famous again.


Reason number 3: The "war" between Will & Sue. I mean, come on! Who doesn't like series which has a bit of "Clash of The Titans" sort of theme? I actually find them both very entertaining. Although I must say, I hate Sue to the max!


Reason number 4: The "hawties" of the series!!! Woot woot!! As Mary Murphy would say: HOT TAMALI TRAIN HERE!!!! *laughs* From "bad boy" Puck, to "gay-hot" Blaine, the men of Glee are 100 times better than beach boys! Well... In my opinion, that is.... *little awkward moment*


  Well, there you have it folks! By the way, season 3 is already out! *jumps with joy* But it's not aired on Star World yet. But but but... You can download the series on torrent websites (just make sure that they're not virus-infected). Till then...

Supernatural...

Supernatural is one of the successful series from The CW Network aside from other series such 90210, Nikita and Smallville. Supernatural has successfully aired sixth season, currently they are airing their seventh season at CW channel. Supernatural has been nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards as well as other award such as Saturn Awards and Leo Awards.

Supernatural series are consists of two main character Dean Winchester as the older brother acted by Jensen Ackles and Sam Winchester as the younger brother acted by Jared Padalecki.

    Supernatural series starts with the story of two brother’s Sam and Dean who were raised by their father John Winchester acted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan to hunt and kill evil spirits after his wife Mary was murdered by a demon when they were young. After twenty two years the two brothers set out on a journey in search of their father who has gone missing recently and battling with evil spirits and demons along the way. When the brothers finally found their father that is when he reveals which demon had killed their mother and found a way to kill the demon. In the meantime, Sam starts to develop ability where he gets visions of people dying before it actually happens which are connected to the demon who killed his mother. When their father died, murdered by the same demon who killed their mother, leaving the brothers alone without their mentor to finish up their fathers crusade.

     This was the introduction for the Supernatural series during the first season. As the season change the series became more complicated with more paranormal activities as well as more drama between the two brothers and other supporting character. The series continues with their second season where the Winchester brothers continue their journey in quest of searching the Yellow Eyed Demon which is the demon who killed their parents’. In this season, they discover more secrets and the demons plan as Sam is not the only one who has special abilities. There are others too who has abilities like Sam and they are part of the plan that the Yellow Eyed Demon has planned for them. Furthermore, their personal battle with the demon may be part of a bigger fight with the entire humankind. The season ends with Dean made a deal with the crossroad demon on order to save Sam.

    Season three of Supernatural was the most significant season along with other shows as the production has to deal with the writer strikes. Season three was not that successful as it lost their touch because of the strike. However, they manage to wrap up the season neatly with less time they intended too. Season three tells the story of brothers searching for solution to save Dean from the deal. Along the way, Sam’s darker sides are shown. Dean’s character in Supernatural are known as the tough guy but in this season Dean’s open up his feelings and confess that he needs help and scared to die. Season three ends with Dean have to deal with the consequences of his agreement with the demon.

    Season four of Supernatural starts with Dean scraped out of his grave and the audience got shocked as Dean is back from the dead. In this season, is where the introduction of angels versus demons and God takes place, hence so many other characters are introduce such as Castiel as angel who pulled Dean out from hell acted by Misha Collins. Besides that, this season is the starting point of Dean and Sam’s relationship becomes distant and more conflict. It hurts to watch the brothers to fight but that is what makes a good drama. Overall, season four had been amazing as it has expanded the series into a bigger and more exciting storyline.

     Season five of Supernatural did not turn out that well compared to season four because of the budget limit from the CW network. Thus, the show introduces the main crisis which is the Apocalypse. In this season, Lucifer acted by Mark Pellegrino trying to persuade Sam to be his vessel in the battle between him and the archangel Michael. Mark Pellegrino performed really well as Lucifer tend to make the audience to dislike the character. As usual, the brother’s relationship is the main theme in this season as the archangel Michael vessel is Dean. Hence, a bigger conflict and complication between the brothers as it comes to the battle of the two Winchester’s.

      As season sixth of Supernatural approaches, there are a few changes on screen as well as behind the scenes. The series creator Eric Kripke steps down as a showrunner, having Sera Gamble to be new showrunner. Whilst on screen Dean stops from being a hunter and stayed with his girlfriend and her son. Dean was unaware that Sam is out of hell and was working together with their grandfathers hunting group. Thus, the season starts to unite the brothers back together. It was heartbreaking to watch Dean have to leave the family he has created and erased their memories so that they can move on. Whereas it was pretty exciting to watch the new soulless Sam as he performed well being cold blooded and no emotions which is different from his usual character. 

     Overall, Supernatural has done a great job in building a loyal fan to the series as the series continues with their seventh season which is airing now at The CW channel. All we can hope is that season seventh of Supernatural will be more exciting and full of drama as well as has its own twist to the series.

Prison Break

Prison Break is and American serial drama television series which contains 4 seasons. Prison break released on August 2005 in United States and Canada on the Fox Broadcasting Company. Prison Break produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions, in association with Rat Television, Original Television Movie and 20th Century Fox Television. The first season of this popular TV series contains 22 episodes.

Prison Break reveals around two brothers. One who has been sentenced to death (Lincoln Burrows) for a crime he did not commit and his younger brother (Michael Scofield) who initiate an elaborate plan to help his brother to escape prison by purposely getting imprisoned.

Michael is a structural engineer and happens to have access to the blueprint of the Fox River prison. After studding the path ways for the escape, Michael tattoo the map on his entire body. Next step is to getting himself imprisoned at the same prison as where his brother is.

Once he goes to Fox River, Michael could manage to get in touch with his brother Lincoln and on the other hand he gets himself involved in a prison work programme as a PI (Prison Assistance) which allows him access to the areas he needs to complete his escape plan. 

As Michael starts to move on according to his plan, other convicts get themselves involved in the escape plan as they offer some sort of tool to assist in the escape plan.

After preparing everything for the scape, all the eight convicts manage to escape from Fox River but as they get themselves to the specified place where the air plane is waiting for them, the plane leaves without them but the convicts start to run.

 

Season two started with the convicts on the run, taking their own journeys. In the beginning of season two a new intelligent person comes in to counter Michael’s genius, and that person is agent Alexander Mahone who is working for FBI. Mahone is a type of person with a multidimensional character where you loved to hate him. At a time he’d scare you, and other moment you’d feel sorry for him.

Mahone was given a task to take down every single Fox River escapee and by the end of the season; several key characters were killed off by Mahoon, including Abruzzi, Tweener & Haywire. At the end, Linchol’s girlfriend Veranica was also killed off by the company hit-man, Paul Kellerman.

By the end of season two the whole story revolving around the company was totally wrapped up. We learned that Scofield’s father was involved in the company and the most interesting moment of the movie was the embarrassing connection between the president and her brother Thomas Steadman who was still alive.   

At end of season two, Michael and Mahone ended up in a new prison in Panama and this prison in Sona seemed much harsher than what we’ve seen in the previous show.

The third season of Prison Break considers as the shortest season of this tv series and it consists of 13 episodes. The season starts in Sona and the excitement surrounding the Sona prison was the fact that it was run by the inmates themselves under the administration of one of the inmates named Lechero. Michael’s motivation to escape was quite different in this season, with his brother Linc on the outside looking in.

The unlikely return of several other characters from the previous season, including T-Bag, Bellick & Sucre, makes the movie more exciting for the audience. The biggest draw of this third season was to see how the escape pans out, and in that area, the series manages to successfully deliver some truly exciting hours of television. 

The season finale of prison break brought about another complete change of direction for the series. In this season, there are no prisoners to break off, and nobody to run from. The Fox River and Sona escapees instead focuse on bringing down the company by finding a device known as Scylla.   

The chase for Scylla took the team from Los Angeles for the first half of the season to Miami for the final episodes. And at the end of the season finale we learned that the main person behind the company is Michael’s mother and Michael dies to keep his brother Linc, his girlfriend Sara & his baby alive.

Chemistry and Acting

What makes any show great is having a great male and female presenter. And in this aspect, Castle the series does not disappoint. Both characters are played brilliantly by the actors. Richard Castle played charmingly by Nathan Fillion. He showcases and swave, the wit, the childlike charm that Richard has. Stana Katic also lends huge talent on the show. She is so versatile in her character that she can play any emotion perfectly. She can be sexy, smart, sophisticated depending on the scene. What captures me most is her ability to express so much with her eyes


Ok here is my confession. I love the show not so much about the crime solving, but I love it for its leading roles. They are not in a relationship but I have never seen a couple on TV more meant to be with each other than Kate and Richard. I am definitely a caskett shipper.

It is what they do that makes me squeel like a fangirl and future cements me addiction to their pain of love.

It is how she teases him that draws me. A beautiful women herself, she uses her sexy voice, facial and body language to tease him. It is both in what she says and what she does not say that shows me she really loves him. Unfortunately, she has always been fighting her feelings that she clearly has for him and ends up in relationships with man she does not love. Come on Kate, he saved your life at least 3 times this season. Other than that, she is only vulnerable with him. She shares stories about her mother with him and shows him details about her life that she does not even show her boyfriends. If you ask me that is a little biased.

In Richards case, he shows signs by always being there with her. He has already written books based on her and can move on but, he decides to stay. He once mentioned, "it is not about the books anymore". And it is how much he cares for her that is so sweet. He once stayed overnight at her place to make sure a killer does not come in and attack her. The next morning he makes her breakfast which caused a lot of banter by her colleagues. Among the sweetest things he has done is creating a scholarship in Kate's mother's name for people who want to serve as a detective.

Unfortunately, both of them picked the worst times to express themselves to each other. Like, before freezing to death, right during the time when other people enter the scene. But with the new season due 19 September, anything is possible. Just you wait!

Castle: A Marvelous Murder Mystery Part 1

Review

Castle is an ABC TV series about solving mystery murders. It is not just another CSI or NYPD Blue, it is a show that focuses on the human element of a crime. It does not impress with forensics or action-packed gun fights, but with amazing story-telling skills by the actors to explore and expand the story of the crime.

Set in New York City, it provides not only a good drama series but also a healthy seasoning of humour. This post will be about the 2 main characters which keep me coming back for more.

Richard Castle is a ruggedly handsome, renegade, charming and funny novelist fresh of his recent best-seller. But with his success he has lost his inspiration but with his connections with the Mayor, he managed to get up close and personal with the NYPD and studies a certain Detective Kate Beckett. He is a wonderful story-teller and has the uncanny ability to think like a murderer. He gets into the mind of the killer and can think a head steps behind or ahead of a killers next move.

Kate Beckett became a murder detective because her mother was murdered early in Kate's life. Her  colleagues describes her as tenacious with her case solving and is still obsessed with her mother's death and vows to find the killer. She initially finds Castle's method of solving crime reckless and compromising but eventually realises his helpfulness in a case.
